有时候为了某件事情付出了很多精力，虽然结果不如人意，但自己尽力就好。
那么问题来了，想要用英语表达“我尽力了”，怎样才地道呢？
① I did my best
我已经尽力了
陈述过去的事情时，虽然结果不尽人意，但已经尽力了，就可以用这个表达，或者也可以说
I’ve done my best，例如：
I did my best, but none took the best advice: stop investing in real estate.
我尽了最大的努力，但是没有一个人接受我最好的建议：不要投资房产。
I should worry not about what other people say but about whether or not I’ve done my best.
我所在乎的并不是别人说了什么，而是自己有没有尽力做到最好。
② I’ll do my best
我会竭尽全力
如果向别人承诺会尽力完成某件事，就可以用这个表达，比如：
I’m not sure, but I’ll do my best.
这个我不能保证，但我会尽力的
Well, I’ll do my best to give you a call within three days at the latest.
好吧！我尽量最迟在三天内就回你电话。
② I’ll see what I can do
我尽力而为吧
这其实是委婉的说法。如果你向别人提出一个请求，对方却面露难色，嘴上虽然说I’ll see what I can do，其实省略掉的是后半句话 but I can’t promise anything.
有时候出于社交礼貌，直接say no有点不给面子，大多数人就会采用这种 “缓兵之计” ，委婉地表示不行。
在美剧《摩登家庭》S9E13中，Jay收到了死对头寄给他的骨灰盒，不知道怎么处理，想让女儿Claire打电话问问咋回事，Claire在回答他时就用到了这个表达：
Jay: I’m gonna need you to call Shirl and find out why her father’s been torturing me.
Claire: You call her!
Jay: That’s not an option. She’s a greasy slimebucket, just like her father, and for some reason, she doesn’t like me.
Claire: Hmm…I’ll see what I can do.
–我要你帮我打给雪儿，搞清楚她爸到底为什么要折磨我。
–你自己打给她。
–你没得选择，她是个油腻的小滑头，跟她爹一个样，而且不知为何，她不喜欢我。
-额，我想想办法吧。
